Students of the Kindness Club at Maple Glen Elementary School in Westfield recently held a food drive to help out with the Backpack Program that Open Doors helps facilitate. Each weekend, and over breaks, Open Doors sends some Westfield students home with backpacks full of food. During the last meeting of the Kindness Club, the students gathered and loaded the donated food into the truck and sent them on their way. In addition, the club did many other things around the school to promote kindness. Instructional Assistant Lee Ann Eck helped lead these students, teaching them the value of generosity and kindness.
