Carmel Symphony Orchestra (CSO) under Artistic Director Janna Hymes returns to the stage at the Palladium at the Center for the Performing Arts in Carmel on Saturday, March 12 with its Masterworks 4 performance.
The concert features the Beethoven Leonore Overture No. 3, Estancia Four Dances by Ginastera, and the enchanting Scheherezade by Rimsky-Korsakov.
The performance begins at 7:30 p.m. Tickets start at just $18 and are available by calling the Palladium Fifth Third Bank Box Office at (317) 843-3800, or at CarmelSymphony.org. Patrons can save 20 percent off their ticket purchase by using code CSO20. Abundant free parking – curbside or garage – is available within a short walk of the Palladium.
Masterworks 4 marks the orchestra’s return to the Palladium stage following a brief performance pause due to this winter’s surge of the COVID-19 Omicron variant.
“After assessing what was occurring in January, our orchestra leadership made the decision to take a short break,” Hymes said. “Without doubt it was the right thing to do, since our family-oriented programs were among the performances affected. Youngsters are invited to come up on stage with the musicians during those concerts, and it just wasn’t a good time for that to be happening!”
Hymes continued, “But it appears we’ve turned the COVID corner, and we all are so excited and happy to be back together with our orchestra family and CSO fans. We’re looking forward to packing the Palladium and presenting an evening of fantastic, moving and memorable music on March 12, so please plan to be there with us!”
