Carmel’s Physique 57 “Fabulous Night Out” will raise money for LGBTQ+ organization

Want to have fun, get a good workout, and help a good cause? Then don’t miss Physique 57’s Fabulous Night out Thursday, Feb. 17. The Carmel barre fitness studio will hold the inaugural event at 5:30 p.m. and 7 p.m. to benefit Trinity Haven Indy, an organization that helps LGBTQ+ young adults facing housing insecurity.

“I asked members of Indy Mavens for local LGBTQ+ organizations. While there are amazing national and regional organizations, we wanted to make sure that our proceeds, no matter the size, would have an impact,” said Physique 57 Carmel owner Leslie Lupton. “Several people mentioned Trinity Haven and I looked into the services they provide. I’ve known people who have faced housing insecurity due to being LGBTQ+ and I love that Trinity Haven provides a safe environment during a time in someone’s life when they might feel like they have no allies.”

The name for the event came from a desire to be inclusive.

“Ladies Night Out, Drag Night, etc., all sounded like they could possibly exclude,” Lupton said. “At Physique 57 we welcome every BODY, and we wanted for everybody to feel welcome to our event.”

The highlight of Fabulous Night Out: Instructor Jet Terry in drag as Jetta.

“Jetta will bring a lot of sass and moves fit for a diva to the workout,” Lupton said. “Jet has a degree in performing arts and dance and is a professional dancer and performer, so he will have us all feeling a little extra as we do our Physique 57 moves. He is a fully trained Physique 57 instructor with over 200 hours of training – he knows how to make class extra fun without sacrificing form and safety.”

Terry said it’s a privilege to do what he loves for a charity so important to him.

“LGBTQ+ individuals face discrimination on a daily basis, and Trinity Haven helps LGBT individuals with housing insecurity to give more peace of mind and keep more people in the community out of dangerous situations,” Terry said.

Trinity Haven Indy Executive Director Jenni White said the organization is humbled to be chosen as the beneficiary of Fabulous Night Out.

“It means the world to us, knowing that so many people love and support us and want to be a part of creating a safe, welcoming affirming home for LGBTQ youth/young adults,” White said. “Thank you so much, friends!”

In addition to the class, Fabulous Night Out will feature a red carpet, and step and repeat at the entry for pictures, as well as photo ops with “Jetta” before and after classes. Tagging Physique 57 Indy and Trinity Haven in Instagram pictures and posts will get bonus entries in a raffle for Renova Aesthetics Brow Lamination/Lash Lift & Tint.

“Plus, there’s something about a red carpet that lifts spirits and puts everyone in the celebratory mood,” Lupton said. “Tickets are $45 and the event is open to the public. The two sessions will both be Sculpt level classes, where the focus is on the foundations of the Physique 57 method. Classes will be limited to 20 people per session. It’s hoped $1,800 will be raised by selling all tickets.”

Lupton continued, “And we are expecting that there will be additional donations for those unable to attend. We are hoping to have at least $2,000 for Trinity Haven.”
