Millers cruise past Bruins

Noblesville scored its second big win in two days Wednesday, sailing past Tri-West 68-21 at The Mill.
The Class 4A No. 3 Millers led 21-7 after the first quarter and 43-12 at halftime. The Bruins had come into The Mill with an 8-2 record, but Noblesville didn’t allow Tri-West more than seven points in a quarter, and held the Bruins to two points in the third period.
“The kids played really well,” said Millers coach Donna Buckley. The coach said the team worked on the things it needed to work on, such as running its offense better in the half court.
“I thought we did that really well tonight,” said Buckley.
Ashlynn Shade scored 20 points for Noblesville, also getting six rebounds, five assists and five steals. Meredith Tippner contributed 12 points, eight rebounds and four steals. Reagan Wilson dished out eight assists to go with eight rebounds, and Brooklyn Smitherman had six rebounds and two blocked shots.
“We had a lot of kids play well and contribute one way or another,” said Buckley.
Noblesville is 11-1 for the season and plays a Hoosier Crossroads Conference game at Westfield on Saturday afternoon.
