Short-handed ‘Blazers cruise to victory

A short-handed University team still was overwhelming on Friday night, as the Trailblazers sailed past Scecina 77-55 at the U Center.
Trailblazers coach Brandon Lafferman said his team was only able to dress six varsity players for the game because of illness and injuries. The coach said he was “incredibly proud of my team” for coming together and beating “a very solid Scecina team.”
Larry Pierce scored 19 points for University, the first of four players in double figures. Seth Hogg added 18, Andre Ozlowski scored 14 and Rob Russell had 12.
Complete stats were unavailable at press time.
The Trailblazers are 3-1 and play their first Pioneer Conference game tonight at Liberty Christian.
