Blackhawks come back against CC

Sheridan overcame a first-quarter deficit to win a hard-fought Hoosier Heartland Conference game at Clinton Central Friday, by the score of 54-50 to extend its winning streak to six games.
The Bulldogs led 21-13 after the first period. The Blackhawks’ defense held CC to nine points in the second quarter, enabling Sheridan to cut the lead to 30-27 by halftime. Ashley Webel got things going offensively, hitting three 3-pointers during the second.
The ‘Hawks trailed 41-38 after three quarters, but pulled ahead in the fourth. Taylor Bates helped out with seven points, making 5 of 6 foul shots to help seal the victory.
Bates was the leading scorer with 18 points. Berkley Williams added 13 and Webel finished with 11.
Sheridan is 3-1 in conference play and 7-2 overall. The Blackhawks are off until next Friday, when they play another HHC game on the road at Eastern.
