Royals cruise past Avon

Hamilton Southeastern cruised to a big Hoosier Crossroads Conference win on Friday, beating Avon 75-46 in a home game.
The Royals led 19-15 after the first quarter, then exploded for 27 points in the second period on their way to a 46-23 halftime lead. Riley Makaluksy was outstanding in the second quarter, scoring 16 points. Maya Makalusky had seven first-quarter points, then added nine more in the third period. Southeastern led 65-36 after three.
Riley Makalusky finished with 30 points and seven rebounds, with Maya Makalusky adding 16 points. Makayla Hinshaw had a great game, with 15 points and a 6-of-6 effort from the free-throw line. Olivia Brown handed out 12 assists to go with seven rebounds, with Zoe Bolding also collecting seven rebounds.
The Royals are 7-4 and are off until next Saturday, Dec. 18, when they play the Mudsock game at Fishers.
