Huskies overwhelm Greenfield-Central

Hamilton Heights picked up its second consecutive big win on Tuesday, beating Greenfield-Central 63-29 in an away game.
The Huskies outscored the Cougars in each quarter. Heights led 15-8 after the first period, with Camryn Runner scoring seven points and MyKayla Moran adding five. In the second quarter, seven different Huskies players scored on their way to a 33-15 halftime lead.
Greenfield mounted a challenge to Heights in the third quarter, but the Huskies still increased their lead to 50-29 by the end of the period. Moran scored another six points, while Mia Shields had five. Heights then shut out the Cougars in the fourth period, outscoring them 13-0.
“Tonight we did a nice job of sharing the basketball,” said Huskies coach Keegan Cherry. “We played with thought and did a nice job of attacking Greenfield’s zone. Everyone wanted the basketball. We played inside out. Our girls were basketball players. We have been really intentional in our last several practices of getting paint touches on offense. When we are able to attack the paint and play off two feet, good things happen. When it’s all about the team and no one cares who gets the credit, it’s fun to watch. Tonight was fun. Our locker room is taking shape and as a coaching staff we like the direction we’re headed. With big challenges ahead, we must continue to embrace the process. Get better each day.”
Runner finished the game with 17 points and three 3-pointers, while Moran scored 15 points. Shields had 13 points, also draining three 3s.
Heights is 4-2 and is off until Wednesday, Dec. 1 when it plays at Fishers.
