Arbra Campbell

February 10, 1939 – September 20, 2021

Arbra Campbell, Newport Beach, Calif., and formerly of Noblesville, passed away on September 20, 2021. He was born on February 10, 1939, to Ruby and Arthur Campbell.

Arb graduated from Noblesville High School in 1958, where he lettered in football, baseball and basketball. He was a member of the 1957 undefeated football team. He also attended Butler University and Indiana University. He moved to California where he lived until his death. He joined the Los Angeles Police Department in 1961, where he worked the Watts Riots in 1965. In his police career, he was also responsible for recovering John Wayne’s stolen guns. He transferred to Newport Beach in 1966 and was promoted to Chief in 1986, a rank he held until he retired in 1992.

Arbra is survived by his wife, Kathey Campbell; two daughters, Kelly Lynn Campbell Giurbino and Karla Jo Campbell Heddinger; granddaughter, Ashley Liotta Estrada; grandson, Kyle Worel; and great-granddaughters, Elizabeth and Juliette Estrada.

He was preceded in death by his parents; sisters, Betty Lou Watts and Inez Cox; and grandson, Matthew Montez.
