Marcella Ruth Moore

October 7, 1930 – November 15, 2021

Marcella Ruth Moore, 91, Westfield, and formerly of the Arcadia and Sheridan areas, passed away on November 15, 2021 at Wellbrooke of Westfield.

She was born on October 7, 1930 in Atlanta to Raymon Fred and Cleo Hannah (Caldwell) Overdorf. She attended Jackson Township schools and graduated from Jackson Central High School with the Class of 1948.

Marcella then became employed at Public Service Indiana that later became Duke Energy. She worked there over 40 years as an engineering clerk.

She was an active member of Arcadia Christian Church where she served many years as a youth group leader and Sunday School teacher. She was also a member of Beta Sigma Phi Sorority and Hamilton County Senior Citizens. She enjoyed crocheting, playing cards, traveling and eating out with family and friends.

She married Lamar Ellis Moore on December 31, 1966, who preceded her in death. Together they enjoyed camping for many years at Old Mill Run Campground at Thorntown, Ind.

Marcella loved people and was very generous and giving to friends and family. Her family was very important to her, especially her nieces, nephews and their families.

Surviving her are nieces, Sharon (Long) Marcotte, Jackie (Kleyla) Ogle, Kathi (Overdorf) Knight, Mary Ann (Overdorf) Madauss and Melodie (Long) Briscoe; and nephews, Rand Overdorf, Rick Overdorf, Bob Long and Ed Kleyla.

In addition to her parents and husband, she was also preceded in death by sisters, Margaret Kleyla and Betty Long; a brother, James David Overdorf; a niece, Marcia (Kleyla) Brown; and nephews, Tom Long and Mike Kleyla.

Funeral services will be held at noon on Friday, November 19, 2021 at Hartley Funeral Home Cicero Chapel, 209 W. Jackson St., Cicero, with Pastors Mark Knapp and Michael Smith officiating. Visitation will be from 10 a.m. until time of the service. Burial will follow at Boxley Cemetery near Sheridan.
