Hamilton Southeastern dropped a tough game at Columbus East on Saturday, falling 57-55.
The Olympians led 20-13 after the first quarter and 37-31 at halftime. The Class 4A No. 8 Royals came back to take a 44-42 advantage after three periods, but Columbus East outscored Southeastern 15-11 in the fourth to get the win.
Maya Makalusky scored 17 points for the Royals, with Riley Makalusky and Lauren Stewart each adding 11 points. Stewart made three 3-pointers. Olivia Brown scored seven points, collected seven rebounds and dished out seven assists. Zoe Bolding had seven blocked shots.
The Royals are 3-2 and open Hoosier Crossroads Conference play Friday when they host Franklin Central.
