Benjamin “Ben” William Schacht, 24, Indianapolis, passed away unexpectedly at his home on October 25, 2021. He was born on May 9, 1997 to David and Susan (Cramer) Schacht.
Ben was a 2016 graduate of Hamilton Southeastern High School in Fishers. He also attended University High School in Carmel. Ben received his Software Developer Certification in 2019 from The Kenzie Academy in Indianapolis. He was most recently providing technology, marketing technology and operational support for a retirement planning firm in Carmel. Ben thrived in his job and enjoyed his coworkers.
In addition to his job, Ben enjoyed his unique music, acquiring collectible fashion pieces, analyzing crypto currency trends, all types of animals and reading books about prominent philosophical, religious and political figures in history. He was a complicated, brilliant, kind, funny and gentle soul.
In addition to his parents, Ben is loved and survived by his younger sister, Sydney Schacht; his grandmother, Donna Schacht; and many aunts, uncles and extended family members.
He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Jerry Schacht, Sr., and Marilyn Jean and Donald William Cramer.
The Schacht family has entrusted Randall and Roberts Funeral Home with Ben’s care. A Celebration of Life Service will be held at a later date, yet to be determined.
We miss Ben immensely, but we are deeply comforted knowing that he is now happy and at peace, free of the struggle of addiction. For those who are experiencing the heartache of mental health issues and addiction, we offer love, peace and healing.
If you would like to do something in honor of Ben, we simply ask for acts of kindness. Kindness and love are the best gifts we can give to one another. The comfort and peace that we have experienced from the love given by our family and friends has been a beautiful gift.
