Carmel head boys basketball coach Scott Heady will be the new head coach at Marian University next season.
Various media reports came out on Tuesday that said that Heady will be announced as the Knights’ new coach on Thursday. Heady will replace Carson Harris, who resigned from the head coach position last week after two years with Marian.
Heady came to Carmel in 2010, and this season marks his seventh with the Greyhounds. He achieved a tremendous amount of success during that time, coaching Carmel to back-to-back Class 4A state championships in 2012 and 2013. The Greyhounds also won the sectional in 2015 and 2016. Heady’s record at Carmel is 134-37.
Heady is no stranger to the college game: Prior to coaching for the ‘Hounds, he was an assistant at Anderson University for two years. Heady spent 13 years at Warren Central (1995-2008), where he won a regional title in 2000. Heady also coached in Connersville for two years (1993-95), winning back-to-back sectional championships.
