Joe E. Collar

July 23, 1939 – October 27, 2021

Joe E. Collar, 82, Sebring, Fla., passed away on Wednesday, October 27, 2021 at Riverview Health in Noblesville. He was born on July 23, 1939 to Francis E. and Edna Pearl (Wenger) Collar in New Philadelphia, Ohio.

Joe proudly served in the United States Air Force. He worked for Indiana Mills manufacturing which became IMMI in Westfield. Joe was also a bookkeeper for Griffin Construction in Noblesville. He attended Lighthouse Fellowship Church of God in Noblesville and was a member of Sebring Church of God in Florida. Joe was a member of the Highland Wood Carving Club and an avid golfer. He enjoyed watching his grandchildren in all of their different activities and loved to eat ice cream.

He is survived by his children, Carla (Mark) Eckstein, Darren (Marianne) Collar, and Matthew (Allysun) Collar; grandchildren, Summer (Kyle) Frandsen, Bobbi (Brandon) Hornaday, Justin (Chelsey) Collar, Kristen (Kyle) Blackford, Quinn Collar, Ana Collar, Jayce Collar, Talon Collar, and Breeze Collar; great-grandchildren, Jeremiah, Keagan, Fitch, Lillyan, Delainey, Ivan, Otto, and Greyson; great-great-grandchild, Felix; brother, Russ (Shirley) Collar; and sisters, Virginia and Juaruta.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Carol A. Collar; and his beloved dog, Shadow.

Services will be held at 1 p.m. on Tuesday, November 2, 2021 at Freedom Church, 1361 Christian Ave., Noblesville, with Pastor Kenneth Lee officiating, with an additional visitation starting at noon. Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. on Monday, November 1, 2021 at Randall & Roberts Funeral Center, 1685 Westfield Road, Noblesville. Burial will be at Oaklawn Memorial Gardens in Indianapolis.
