The Hamilton County Republican Party announced on Thursday that a caucus of precinct committeemen has selected David Giffel to fill the vacant Fishers City Council Southwest District seat created by the resignation of David George.

Giffel was elected in November 2018 to serve a four-year term on the Delaware Township Board.

George announced his resignation in September, citing an increased workload with his day job and an increased number of hours needed for constituent services for the residents in his district. He served a combined 19 years on the Fishers Town Board and the Fishers City Council.
