The Indiana High School Volleyball Coaches Association announced its 2021 Academic All-State Team earlier this week, and there were quite a few people on the list.
A total of 850 student-athletes earned Academic All-State honors, an increase from last year’s number of 732. The IHSVCA said the average weighted grade-point average for the honorees was 3.95.
Hamilton County had its fair share of players earning Academic All-State, with 25 student-athletes across eight schools earning the honor. Here is a list of honorees.
CARMEL: Ella Bostic, Macarty McQueen, Miraya Moore, Valerie Trent, Caroline Yuska.
FISHERS: Mia Fehlinger, Samantha Perdue, Carsen Plew.
GUERIN CATHOLIC: Kendall Bratton, Halley Buehler, Margaret Christ, Maya DeCraene, Kathryn Loso, Amelia Niccum.
HAMILTON HEIGHTS: Jordan Fryman, Kelsey Smith.
HAMILTON SOUTHEASTERN: Jada Berg, Brooke Elliott, Emi Robinson, Meghan Slaninka.
NOBLESVILLE: Ella Peter.
SHERIDAN: Taylor Bates, Kaiden Wilson.
WESTFIELD: Julia Bohn, Logan Mapes.
In addition to the players, the IHSVCA honored 76 seniors on its inaugural Support Staff Academic All-State team. That group had a weighted GPA of 3.72.
University had five honorees on the list: Lynne Alkobi, Ronelle Dorant, Madison Hamby, Rachael Major and Jillian Sager. Westfield had two honorees: Joseph Barbera and Cole Wolfe.
