Volleyball: Millers play tough matches, ‘Rocks win twice

The Noblesville volleyball team played a pair of tough five-set matches to begin the week.
On Monday, the Millers lost a very close match to New Palestine. The scores were 25-21, 22-25, 21-25, 25-20, 15-13. Lexie Bowler hit 18 kills for Noblesville and made five blocks.
Emily Kiser had 13 kills and five blocks. Brenna Everingham scooped up 30 digs, while Maddie Hine handed out 55 assists and collected 14 digs.
Noblesville fell to Mount Vernon on Tuesday, 25-22, 26-24, 13-25, 13-25, 15-10. Lexie Almodovar spiked 20 kills, with Bowler hitting 14 and Alexa Roberts 13. Hine dished out 58 assists, with Everingham making 19 digs.

Westfield wrapped up its regular season with back-to-back victories.
On Monday, the Shamrocks swept Pike 25-13, 25-11, 25-18. Kinsey McAfee hit 11 kills, while Claire Hindman made 25 digs and served six aces. Caroline Sinicki handed out 12 assists, with Sarah Weglarz dishing out eight assists.
On Tuesday, Westfield won an all-county match with Hamilton Heights 25-10, 25-21, 25-18. Hindman had 17 digs, McAfee spiked 10 kills, Kenzie Dafinee served five aces and Hillary Muntel had one solo block and one block assist. Sinicki had 32 assists.
For the Huskies, Ana Collar got 13 digs, handed out 12 assists, put down 10 kills and collected three service points. Emma Knowles had 13 digs, seven assists and five service points, including an ace. Kylie Rose made 11 digs and had three service points, including an ace.

Hamilton Southeastern swept Greenfield-Central 25-19, 25-18, 25-12 on Tuesday.
Grace Kane collected 14 digs for the Class 4A No. 8 Royals. Olivia Phillips handed out 21 asissts and hit four kills. Meredith Phillips put down nine kills, while Julia Patras had five kills in a strong night on the right side.
Southeastern is now 23-8 and has won 16 of its last 17 matches.

Fishers swept Brebeuf Jesuit 25-18, 25-22, 25-15 on Tuesday.
Mallory Hernandez hit 21 kills for the Tigers, with Audrey Haworth spiking 14. Rose Duffy handed out 39 assists. Hernandez served four aces and scooped up 12 digs, with Bryn Roberts making 17 digs.
