The Guerin Catholic girls soccer team won an all-county game on Wednesday, beating Fishers 3-0 at the Golden Eagles’ field.
Emersen Jennings, Katie Koger and Mia Gatz all scored one goal for Class 3A No. 13 Guerin Catholic, with Jennings and Hailey Abel each making one assist. Bailey Cappella had two saves.
The Golden Eagles are 8-2-4 and host Lafayette Central Catholic tonight in their regular-season finale. The 3A No. 20 Tigers finished their regular season 6-7-3 and play Anderson next Thursday, Oct. 7 in the semi-finals of Sectional 8 at Noblesville.
In another all-county girls game, 3A No. 1 Noblesville and 3A No. 4 Hamilton Southeastern played to a 0-0 tie Wednesday at the Royals’ field.
The game was the Hoosier Crossroads Conference and regular-season finale for both teams. The Millers finished HCC play 6-0-1 and are the conference champions, while the Royals were 4-1-2 in the HCC.
Overall, Noblesville is 13-0-1 and Southeastern is 12-1-3. The two teams will play each other Tuesday in the first round of Sectional 8 at Noblesville.
Westfield’s girls team won its regular-season and HCC finale, beating Avon 1-0 in an away game.
Kate Eichenauer scored the Shamrocks’ goal, with Madison Niehaus making the assist.
Westfield finished conference play 4-2-1 and is 7-4-5 for the season. The Shamrocks play Arsenal Tech Tuesday at Carmel in the first round of Sectional 10.
Carmel’s boys team got a big win to finish the regular season, as the 3A No. 10 Greyhounds cruised past 3A No. 17 Harrison 4-1 on the road.
AJ Caito, Josh Martinez, Chase Havice and Cole Fogleman all scored one goal, with Connor Dora, Braeden Thomson and Colin Fettig each making one assist.
“Our energy, movement, spacing, and changing the point of attack was wonderful tonight. I am proud of everyone,” said Carmel coach Shane Schmidt.
The ‘Hounds are 11-3-2 and play Pike next Wednesday in the semi-finals of Sectional 10 at Westfield.
Sheridan’s girls team fell to 1A No. 10 Tipton 5-0 in a Wednesday away game.
The Blue Devils led 1-0 at halftime, then scored three goals in 10 minutes during the second half. Hailey Godbey made nine saves in the first half.
The Blackhawks are 7-5 and play at Tri-Central today in a Hoosier Heartland Conference game.
