Indianapolis resident and former Fort Wayne resident, Luella King went to be with her Heavenly Father on September 29, 2017.
Luella was born in Ft. Wayne, Ind., where she graduated from Northside High School and spent most of her career at Weatherhead and Dana Corporation. She also lived in Garrett, Ind., prior to moving to Westminster Village North in Indianapolis in 2008.
Luella had the most beautiful blue eyes and always had a smile on her face and a Milky Way bar in her pocket. While her eyesight and hearing posed challenges, she kept a positive outlook and enjoyed a good joke. Luella was very caring and fun to be around. She loved to travel and was even known to hit a few casinos.
She is survived by granddaughters, Terri Stanner Blaising (Stephen), and Lisa Grabner; great-grandchildren, Megan Blaising (Indianapolis), Nick Blaising (Chicago), Jeremy Distelrath (Ft. Wayne), Frederick Braun, Lucas Braun, Serenity Braun and Suzanna Braun (all of Ft. Wayne); great-great-grandchildren, Connor Distelrath and Matilda Distelrath (Ft. Wayne); and her long-time friend, Paul Rose (Ft. Wayne).
Luella King was proceeded in death by her parents, George and Garnet Nelson; and daughter, Sondra Distelrath.
Memorial gifts may be made to the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation; or, Indianapolis Humane Society.
Randall & Roberts Funeral Homes have been entrusted with arrangements. Visitation will be from noon to 2 p.m. on Sunday, October 1, 2017 at Randall & Robert Fishers Mortuary, 12010 Allisonville Road in Fishers. A memorial service will follow at 3 p.m. at Noblesville First United Methodist Church, 2051 Monument St. in Noblesville. Graveside services will be at 1 p.m. on Monday, October 2, 2017 at Lindenwood Cemetery in Ft. Wayne.
