Many still do not realize that more than 27,000 Hamilton County friends and neighbors face food insecurity issues year-round. Local children are coming into the classrooms not equipped to fully learn because of hunger issues.

The walk will be start at 2 p.m. on Sunday, Oct. 3 at Dr. James A. Dillon Park, 6001 Edenshall Lane, Noblesville.

The Hamilton County 5K Hunger Walk is an event to highlight these issues and bring together all who are truly interested and invested in ending food insecurity in Hamilton County. The collaborative group that has helped to shape and bring this event forward on Sunday, Oct. 3 represents all geographic areas of the county and leadership in the county’s food support network.

All proceeds from the walk will help the food support network of Hamilton County with 75 percent going locally to the area of the county you want to support:

  • Carmel
  • Hamilton Southeastern
  • Hamilton Heights
  • Noblesville
  • Sheridan
  • Westfield
  • or Where Most Needed

The remaining 25 percent of proceeds will be used globally by the Church World Service. Interested individuals can participate on Oct. 3 or virtually on your own schedule. Donations will be accepted now and year-round.

Music will be provided at the event by Karey Hidig with Jump for Joy.
