The Sheridan girls soccer team cruised to a 9-0 Hoosier Heartland Conference win Thursday at the Blackhawks’ home field.
Cecilia Timme continued her stellar freshman season by scoring three goals and handing out three assists. Berkley Williams also scored three goals. Chaney Smith, Claire Purciful and Mac Smith all added one goal, while Lilly Chesney and Makaley Terry both provided one assist.
“The girls are coming out very confident every night about how they’re playing and how they attack and how they defend,” said Blackhawks coach Brian Prange.
Sheridan is 2-0 in conference play and 7-4 overall. The ‘Hawks are back in action next Wednesday when they play at Tipton.

Westfield picked up a Hoosier Crossroads Conference win on Thursday, beating Brownsburg 1-0 at the Shamrocks’ field.
Brooke Cimini scored Westfield’s goal, with Kate Malin making the assist.
The ‘Rocks improved to 3-2-1 in the HCC and are 6-3-5 overall. Westfield next plays Monday at Carmel.

Hamilton Southeastern, ranked No. 4 in 3A, played to a 3-3 tie at 3A No. 10 Zionsville in a Thursday HCC game.
The Royals led 1-0 at halftime; Tatum Coleman scored the goal with Chloe Count making the assist. Southeastern jumped ahead 2-0 after Olivia Smith got the second half’s first goal; Norah Wans made the assist.
Zionsville then scored two quick goals to tie the game. Lauren Ellinger put the Royals up 3-2 with a goal. Coleman made the assist. But the Eagles tied the game again by scoring off a corner kick.
“Disappointed to lose such a strong lead and then think you still got the game winner with that third goal but we have to defend corners better going into the tournament,” said HSE coach Greg Davidson.
Southeastern is 4-1-1 in conference play and 12-1-2 overall. The Royals finish their HCC season Wednesday by hosting Noblesville.
Hamilton Heights, ranked No. 8 in 2A, dropped a tough game to Western Thursday in the semi-finals of the Hoosier Conference tournament.
The game was scoreless after regulation and overtime, so it went to a penalty kick shootout, where the Panthers won 4-3.
The Huskies advanced to the semi-finals by winning a Tuesday first-round game 4-1 over Northwestern. Kyndall Ferguson scored three goals, while Cassidy Felger had one goal and one assist. Emma Hall and Mady Hutcheron both provided one assist. Jenn Houser made six saves.
Heights is 12-2 and plays 2A No. 15 West Lafayette Saturday morning in the conference tournament’s third-place game.
