Westfield dropped a Friday Hoosier Crossroads Conference game to Avon on the road, 24-6.
The lone score for the Shamrocks against the Class 6A No. 9 Orioles came from senior Koby Hauser, who punched the ball in from the one-yard line early in the second quarter. Hauser would be Westfield’s leading rusher, with 56 yards in 14 carries.
Cameron Nance had a fine game at quarterback, completing eight of 18 passes for 122 yards. Kaleb Pettijohn had six receptions for 94 yards.
In addition to his score, Hauser had a solid defensive game as well, making 14 total tackles – 11 solo, three assists. Cameron Frye had 1.5 tackles for a loss, and also made a quarterback sack for a loss of 14 yards.
Westfield is now 2-3 in conference play and 4-3 overall. The Shamrocks will finish up HCC competition for the season next Friday by hosting Fishers at Riverview Health Stadium.
