Portal set to close by end of the month
The Hamilton County American Rescue Plan Act (ARPA) Committee held its second meeting on Sept. 3 to discuss and adapt the Relief Grant process and review several applications.

“We are continually hearing from county residents, both in person and through the community engagement portal,” said County Commissioner Steve Dillinger. “As a committee we discuss these comments and where appropriate make changes to our existing process.”
One recent process change, based on community input, was removing the need to show a revenue reduction from 2019.
“A number of organizations have been very productive in their efforts to obtain both federal and state relief funding and may not show a reduction in revenue in 2020 compared to 2019,” Dillinger said. “This doesn’t mean they weren’t negatively affected by COVID-19, and this was a change we felt made the process more equitable.”
The application portal for this round of relief grant funding requests will close Thursday, Sept. 30. Interested entities must have a complete application submitted by 4:30 p.m.

“It’s important that all applicants understand the committee reviews and weighs submissions on the information that is required and provided,” said County Councilman Brad Beaver. “For example, one of those requirements is providing all other funding sources and each of those amounts.”

The next ARPA Committee meeting to review Relief Grant submissions is scheduled for 10:30 a.m. on Thursday, Oct. 7 in Conference Room 1A at the Hamilton County Government and Judicial Center, 1 Hamilton County Square, Noblesville.
