James (Jim) Eric Fritz, 61, Westfield, passed away on September 3, 2021 at St. Vincent’s Hospital of Indianapolis. He was born on May 8, 1960 in Valparaiso, Ind. He was the son of Otto and Muriel Fritz of LaCrosse, Ind.
Jim graduated from LaCrosse High School in 1978. He attended Purdue University and graduated from IUPUI of Indianapolis. He was employed at the Westfield Kroger store.
Jim had a strong interest in history, including working at Conner Prairie and involvement in a reenactment group. Through the years, he enjoyed rock climbing, skiing, and running marathons, including participation in the Chicago marathon.
He is survived by his parents; children, Audrey Fritz, Dillon, Colo., and Dylen Fritz, Milroy, Ind.; brother, John Otto Fritz (Jana), Wamego, Kan.; sister, Beth Ann Lamar (William), Kouts, Ind.; and niece, Amanda Jo Lamar, Noblesville.
A graveside memorial service will be held at a later date to be determined.
