Who is Flat Canley? You might have seen him out and about in Noblesville, Fishers, Carmel, Westfield, Sheridan and all over Hamilton County. You can follow him on Twitter by searching for #FlatCanley. He is the yellow can-man mascot for the inaugural Hamilton County Harvest Food Bank Harvest Haul 5K race and 1.5 mile walk. He’s helping to raise awareness that hunger is a problem right here. Over 27,150 individuals and 11,470 kids deal with food insecurity on a daily basis here in Hamilton County. This summer the Food Bank and 15 of its pantry and feeding program affiliates helped serve over 42,000 meals to children across the county so that summertime could indeed be healthy for everyone.
HCH Food bank and Flat Canley’s goal is to continue to raise awareness year round. Come join us on at 8:30 a.m. on Saturday, Oct. 21 at Forest Park in Noblesville for the first Harvest Haul 5K and 1.5 mile walk. Entries are online at harvesthaul5k.hchfoodbank.org. For cool t-shirts, orders must be in by Wednesday, Oct. 4.
This race is presented by the great volunteers and partners at Ryan Fire Protection and includes sponsors Hamilton County MIBOR, Nicole DiDonna Students Making a Difference, Northside Networking, OnPoint, Mid-America Mortgage and Custom Touch Irrigation.
