The City of Carmel in partnership with Greater Indiana Clean Cities, Hoosier Electric Vehicle Association, Carmel Green Initiative and Knozone has announced an Electric Vehicle (EV) Ride and Drive on Saturday, Sept. 11 as part of the National Drive Electric Week. This event will take place during the monthly Allied Solutions’ Meet Me on Main event held in the Carmel Arts & Design District.
Attendees will have the opportunity to test drive EVs, speak with EV owners and find out other important information regarding owning and charging EVs in Carmel and Central Indiana. The event takes place from 4 to 7 p.m. at the north east corner of Main Street and Range Line Road (PNC Bank lot).
EV Ride and Drive events give the public the chance to test out new electric vehicles from a wide variety of manufacturers. This year, Motor Drive and several local automotive dealers will have cars to test drive. In addition to learning how to charge and where to charge EVs, you can also learn ways they improve air quality and reduce CO2 emissions, how to charge them with solar power, how much fun they are to drive and how owning an EV is cost efficient.
“With more than 50 EV chargers in the City of Carmel, including a Tesla Supercharger Station and more to come thanks to a grant from Indiana Department of Environmental Management, Carmel is a leader in ownership and charging infrastructure. With all the charging infrastructure available within the city limits, it makes owning an EV that much easier,” said Mayor Jim Brainard.
