The City of Carmel joined OneZone and owners of Needler’s Fresh Market Friday morning to celebrate the grand opening of the new market at the corner of 126th Street and Gray Road. A large crowd was present as they cut the ribbon and welcomed the first customers inside the new market.
According to Carmel City Councilman Adam Aasen, “It was a busy day for the grand opening of Needler’s Fresh Market in Carmel. There was a long line waiting to get in before the doors opened and a full parking lot full of happy customers. It was an honor to speak to the crowd, thanking the mayor, councilors in attendance Jeff Worrell and Kevin Woody Rider, CRC Director Henry Mestetsky, the Needler family, Brent Benge at KennMar and more for making this possible.”
According to Aasen, Southeast Carmel residents are so excited to have such a community-oriented grocery store that they can walk or bike to.
“Neighborhood development is vital to keep our city thriving,” Aasen said. “Not only do you need beautiful homes, great schools and well-maintained roads, but you need walkable amenities and desirable businesses to keep an area vibrant. When cities invest in neighborhoods and businesses, you see businesses, in turn, make investments right back into the community.”
