Lieutenant Governor Suzanne Crouch recently awarded the Lt. Governor’s Brilliant Firefly Award to two local youth: Leo Berry of Carmel, and Hannah Doran of Zionsville.

The Indiana Lieutenant Governor’s Brilliant Firefly is awarded to young Hoosiers who have distinguished themselves by demonstrating outstanding community service, exemplary academic achievement, and exceptional leadership in their communities and are “lighting Indiana’s future.”

Berry’s petition to help conserve Indiana Wetlands received over 30,000 signatures, which he hand-delivered to Governor Eric Holcomb this April. Lt. Gov. Crouch commended Berry for his efforts and the use of his voice, saying she encourages all young people to do so.

Brilliant Firefly recipient Hannah Doran demonstrated considerable leadership, drive, and dedication to improving her community. A senior at Zionsville High School, Doran’s admirable efforts to integrate and unify ZHS political party student groups were also acknowledged.

Lt. Gov. Crouch applauded Hannah Doran, Zionsville, for being a fierce advocate for adolescent and teen mental health, and for her time spent volunteering at The Cabin Counseling & Resource Center, Inc. to help promote counseling services. (Photo provided)
