The Carmel and Hamilton Southeastern boys tennis teams opened their seasons with a dual meet at the Royals’ tennis courts on Tuesday.
The defending state champion Greyhounds beat Southeastern 5-0, winning all five matches in straight sets. The closest match was at No. 1 doubles, where Carmel’s Srisanth Malpeddi and Jack Jentz were extended to 7-5, 6-4 by the Royals’ Aiden De Witt and Andrew Spirrison.
The ‘Hounds host West Lafayette today in their first match of the season at the Todd Witsken Tennis Center. Southeastern travels to Brownsburg on Thursday for a Hoosier Crossroads Conference meet.

Noblesville opened its season Monday by dropping a 4-1 match to Harrison at the Noblesville East Middle School tennis courts.
The No. 1 doubles team of Sean Vitales and Rory Bushong got the Millers’ lone win, in three sets.
Noblesville hosts Brebeuf Jesuit this afternoon.
