Hamilton County’s volleyball teams won’t be wasting any time jumping into the big county rivalry matches once the season begins today.
In fact, there will be three big all-local matches over the next few days, including one this morning. Carmel travels to Fishers today in what will be the season-opener for both teams. On Monday, the Greyhounds will head a little farther east, to Hamilton Southeastern to take on the defending sectional champion Royals.
Before hosting Carmel, Southeastern plays its season opener today at McCutcheon. Another big first match is Guerin Catholic traveling to Hamilton Heights on Tuesday, the opener for both teams.
As for other schools, Westfield starts its season today by playing at Lawrence North. Sheridan and University both open on Monday, with the Blackhawks hosting Crawfordsville and the Trailblazers playing at Traders Point Christian. Noblesville will begin its season on Tuesday by hosting North Central.
