Event seeks to foster better police-community relations
National Night Out is an annual campaign that promotes police-community partnerships and camaraderie to make neighborhoods safer, more caring places to live. National Night Out enhances the relationship between neighbors and law enforcement while bringing back a true sense of community.
This year, Aug. 3 is National Night Out. The Carmel Police Department (CPD) will again partner with members of the community to affirm CPD’s conviction against crime and disorder. This year’s event is scheduled to take place from 6 to 8 p.m. at the Carmel Gazebo.
Police and fire department personnel will be there to talk about safety and answer questions. Additionally, the CPD SWAT truck, Drone Team, Crime Scene Specialists, CFD Fire Engines and many other interesting things to see will be there. Attendees can enjoy free pizza and hot dogs as well as Big Wheel races, airbrush tattoos, a free photo booth and several fun games.
The Bloodmobile will be there, so you can do your part to help save a life.
