The Hamilton County Young Republicans are back.
Last month, the group selected new leadership to helm the group, and members are now planning their first event since the onset of the COVID pandemic. The mini-golf meet and greet is set for 7 p.m. on Thursday, Aug. 5 at Birdie’s Miniature Golf Course and Sports Bar, 632 State Road 32, Westfield.
The club is now headed by Chris Elmore, who served as the Chairman for the Indiana High School Republicans and is currently the Executive Director of the Hamilton County GOP.
“I am excited to start in this role and to help revitalize the club by reintroducing monthly meetings and working to recruit new members to continue the growth of the Young Republicans organization,” Elmore said. “I am also excited to revitalize the grassroots potential of Young Republicans to mobilize for the midterm elections next year, where we will work hard to keep Hamilton County red.”
The group is also being led by Carmel City Councilor Adam Aasen as vice chairman. Will Smeltzer, a legislative assistant for the Indiana House Republicans, will help lead the group as its secretary. Jamie Nieves, the Director of Business Development at Shrewsberry & Associates, will lead as treasurer for the organization.
Anyone wishing attend the meet and greet can RSVP via email to chris@hcyoungrepublicans.org.
