Carmel City Councilor Adam Aasen held a community town hall at Brookshire Golf Club clubhouse on July 14. Speakers included Aasen (above left), Carmel Mayor Jim Brainard (above center), Carmel Police Chief Jim Barlow (above right) and City Engineer Jeremy Kashman.
Aasen answered questions from the crowd of at least 75 people for more than 90 minutes. Topics included road construction, diversity, police enforcement, attracting millennials, solar energy, 5G small cell towers, the new comprehensive plan, cell phone coverage and repaving streets.
The Carmel Police Department had several representatives present to answer questions and share crime statistics, including a detailed handout.
The most exciting announcement is that Needler’s grocery store, located in southeast Carmel, will have its grand opening on Aug. 20.
