Partnership for Healthy Hamilton County and Hamilton County Systems of Care are merging as the two organizations join efforts to address community gaps in health and wellbeing for local youth and families.
The new organization will be known as A Healthier Hamilton County: Systems of Care.
It will collaborate with all systems in the county that influence the health of residents, including healthcare providers, government agencies at every level, nonprofits, health advocacy associations and more. It will address not just physical wellbeing but also mental health, substance use disorder and social factors that impact overall wellness such as employment, housing, domestic violence, etc.
The merged organization has a new Facebook page and will use the PHHC website, hamiltoncountyphhc.org, for now until an updated version is completed. It will operate out of the PHHC headquarters at 12175 Visionary Way, Fishers.
The mission of A Healthier Hamilton County: Systems of Care is to be a community partnership ensuring strength-based resources to support and empower families and children. The organization’s vision is that all Hamilton County youth and families are provided an equal opportunity to live in a safe, healthy and supportive community.
The organization will remain part of Indiana’s Systems of Care through the state Division of Mental Health and Addiction (DMHA), which had funded the Hamilton County System of Care beginning in October 2017 until June 30, 2021.
It will also continue to operate the Hamilton County Youth and Family Alliance as part of its mission, seeking input and feedback from residents from all walks of life. This initiative uses people’s lived experiences and voices to learn the best route to address community health gaps.
The new group’s board of directors consists of representatives from the Hamilton County Health Department, Aspire Indiana Health, Hamilton East Public Library, Indiana Department of Child Services, Juvenile Probation, Choices Coordinated Care Solutions, Children’s Bureau, Noblesville Schools, Child Care Answers, Good Samaritan Network, IU Health and community/parent representatives.
