The “new normal” of COVID-19 for the past year – lockdowns, quarantines, and Zoom calls – has had Hoosiers asking one question: Can I get out? Residents of Westfield will be asking this same question in a whole new light as The Escape Room USA Westfield opens its doors this fall at 16848 Southpark Drive.

The escape room craze has swept the globe over the last five years and offers a unique form of entertainment. Visitors must find clues, solve puzzles, and escape from a themed room before the time is up. According to Trip Advisor, The Escape Room USA offers some of the best rated Escape Rooms in the nation with themes ranging from the ill-fated Titanic, Revolutionary War-era rooms, Jail Break, and an all-new 90-minute fantasy-themed adventure.

The Westfield venue will be the fourth location for The Escape Room USA. The local Indiana company began in downtown Indianapolis in 2015 and expanded to Fishers in 2016 and Columbus, Ohio, in 2018. The new location in Westfield is expected to open early fall 2021 and will have five Adventures.

“We are excited to join the Westfield community,” said Don McPheron, COO and Chief Escapitect. “The goal of our team has always been to design unique, detailed, and immersive experiences, and we are all-in to do the same in Westfield.”

The new rooms in Westfield will include a Hoosier-themed sports room, as well as an all new fantasy themed adventure. In addition to offering a new entertainment venue for residents, corporate groups, and out-of-town visitors, The Escape Room USA Westfield will require a staff of 15 to 20 Adventure Guides and managers who will monitor Adventures and welcome guests.

In addition to being a part of the vibrant Westfield community, The Escape Room USA Westfield is excited to be near Grand Park Sports Campus.

“We can’t wait to open our doors and provide a fun, immersive, indoor adventure like no other for families and teams to experience while in Westfield,” said CEO Jennifer Harbron. The new Westfield location will offer snacks and drinks as well, while providing lounge space to gather with friends and teammates.

While opening four locations within a company’s first six years is impressive under normal circumstances, this achievement is sweetened given the strain the COVID-19 pandemic has placed on small businesses everywhere.

“The early months of closure were difficult, as every small business knows,” said Harbron. “We had to adapt on many levels to make our venue a safe place, and our team worked hard to make it through. We are thankful to be on this side of it. It is exciting to see families and friend able to gather together again.”

As work begins with the goal of welcoming guests this fall, experience and quality are the primary focus of the company’s designers and builders. The goal is to create a welcoming, adventure space that entices the guest to return again and again.
