Franklin College’s 2021 Commencement took place on May 22 in Stewart “Red” Faught Stadium on the Franklin College campus. The venue allowed for physical distancing of participants as well as guests. The event was also livestreamed on the college’s website.
The top majors of the graduating class were exercise science, business, biology, public relations and education. The college conferred 194 undergraduate degrees and 25 graduate degrees.
A total of 12 graduates are from Hamilton County.
Billie Dragoo, founder and CEO of RepuCare, delivered the commencement address, and was awarded an honorary doctorate of humane letters during the ceremony.
The senior class speaker was Charles Hall, a native of Owensboro, Ky., who majored in exercise science and double minored in fitness and chemistry. Hall has been accepted at the Kentucky College of Osteopathic Medicine, where he will take the next steps toward his goal of becoming a physician.
Preceding commencement, on May 21, Dr. Leah Gunning Francis gave the baccalaureate address and received an honorary doctorate of divinity degree from the college. Francis serves as the vice president for academic affairs and dean of the faculty at Christian Theological Seminary in Indianapolis.

Joshua T. Alford, son of Sean Alford and Kelly Alford, both of Carmel, earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in psychology.
Nathaniel W. Arrowood, son of Derek and Kim Arrowood of Cicero, earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in music.
Joseph E. Bejin IV, son of Joe and Julie Bejin of Carmel, earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in art studio (graphic design).
Avery M. K. Bundy, son of Malinda Bundy of Sheridan, earned Bachelor of Arts degrees in accounting and business/finance. He graduated cum laude.
Alexis D. Cheatham, daughter of Jill English of Indianapolis (46260) and Riley Cheatham of Fishers, earned Bachelor of Arts degrees in creative writing and psychology. She graduated cum laude. Her peers selected her as a Top Ten Senior.
Cameron A. Dixon, son of James and Tamara Dixon of Carmel, earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in public relations.
Hunter N. Fields, daughter of Darren Fields of Morgantown and Lora Smith of Noblesville, earned Bachelor of Arts degrees in psychology and sociology.
Allison V. Lipetz, of Carmel, received a Master of Science degree in physician assistant studies.
Tyler G. Majeski, son of Douglas and Shannon Majeski of Carmel, earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in computer science.
Samantha L. Morgan, of Carmel, received a Master of Science degree in physician assistant studies.
Matthew J. Olovich, son of Kenneth and Julie Olovich of Fishers, earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in biology.
Victoria L. Ratliff, daughter of Jennifer Lucero and Jon Ratliff, both of Noblesville, earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in multimedia journalism. She graduated summa cum laude.
