Sen. Young releases new video thanking Hoosier police officers

Following National Police Week last week, U.S. Senator Todd Young (R-Ind.) released a new video thanking men and women in uniform for their service.

Last week, Senator Young joined a resolution recognizing National Police Week that passed the Senate by unanimous consent. Senator Young also cosponsored the COPS Counseling Act to encourage law enforcement to seek peer counseling programs confidentially, which was approved by the Senate Committee on the Judiciary and now heads to the Senate floor.

“We’re here to provide the tools wherever we can to members of law enforcement so they can go out there and continue to keep us safe and secure,” Sen. Young said. “So that I can send off my kids to school every day, and we don’t have to worry about their safety. So that people will move to great towns like Kokomo, Indiana, to be able to start businesses without worrying about the security environment. These are things that I think too often we take for granted.”

“We need somebody in Washington, to say the least, that supports law enforcement. We all do great things every day, like I said, a lot of people do not see,” said Howard County Sheriff Jerry Asher. “Senator Todd Young, thank you again for being here with us.”
