Dr. Daniel Steven Cotton, 74, Westfield, passed away on Wednesday, May 5, 2021 at his home. He was born on November 26, 1946 to Frank and Fern (Beaman) Cotton in Ossian, Ind.
Dan completed his undergraduate degree from Indiana University in Psychology, then continued on with IU Medical School. He did his residency in internal medicine and his fellowship in Nephrology at Cleveland Clinic. Dan worked at hospitals in Cleveland and Columbus in Ohio, and most recently served as a medical independent contractor while also teaching at Eskenazi Hospital and St. Vincent Hospital in Internal Medicine.
He is survived by his wife of 29 years, Ann (Beemer) Cotton; sons, Luke Cotton and Sean Cotton; sister, Susie (Mark) Novak; nephew, Michael (Nicole) Biberstine; niece, Kristin (Dan) Crain; two great-nephews; and two great-nieces.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 1 p.m. on Tuesday, May 11, 2021 at St. Maria Goretti Catholic Church, 17102 Spring Mill Road, Westfield. Visitation will be from noon to the time of service at the church. Burial will be at Summit Lawn Cemetery in Westfield.
