The Guerin Catholic softball team ran into a buzzsaw Thursday, as the Class 3A No. 3 Golden Eagles hosted 4A No. 3 Roncalli in a Circle City Conference game.
The Royals won 5-0 in six innings, handing Guerin Catholic its first loss of the season. Roncalli pitcher Keagan Rothruck put together a perfect game, striking out 16 GC batters and getting groundouts for the other two outs.
Golden Eagles pitcher Izzy Kemp pitched all six innings, striking out nine.
Guerin Catholic is 12-1 and hosts Maconaquah Saturday in a doubleheader.
