Girls lacrosse: Noblesville girls get win over Brebeuf

The Noblesville girls lacrosse team dominated Brebeuf Jesuit on Friday 19-3 as part of a girls-boys doubleheader.
The Millers led 3-0 early in the game. Senior Emma Potter set a new single-game record by scoring eight goals, becoming the first player to reach 100 career goals and 150 career points in high school history. Potter also had six draw controls and six ground balls.
Maddie Christie added four goals and four draw controls, while Sidney Klinger had three goals and one assist. Chloe Barnett picked up three ground balls and made two interceptions, in addition to scoring one goal and making one forced turnover. Chaney Cornell had two ground balls and two forced turnovers to lead the Noblesville defense.
Brooke Miller dished out two assists, while Rheagan Haney had two ground balls, two forced turnovers, one goal, one assist, one draw control and one interception.
On Saturday, the Millers lost to Kentucky Country Day 11-1. Maya Hill scored Noblesville’s goal, with Potter making the assist. The Millers’ next game is Tuesday against Bishop Chatard.
Noblesville’s boys team fell to Brebeuf Jesuit 17-9 on Friday. The Millers traveled to Castle on Saturday, and dropped a 17-4 game to the Knights.

Carmel’s girls lacrosse team beat Hamilton Southeastern 18-8 on Friday.
The game was tied at 6-6 at halftime; the Greyhounds’ Sophia Hanna made a goal with two seconds left in the half to pull Carmel even with the Royals. The ‘Hounds then outscored Southeastern 12-2 in the second half.
Hannah Kim led the Carmel scoring with five goals and two assists. Maddie McGarty and Julia Cherubini both added four goals, followed by Anna Dumke with three and Hanna with two. McGarty dished out two assists, while Cherubini and Savannah Frauhiger both had one.
Caitlin Carter scored two goals for the Royals, followed by one each for Kendall Borgert, Samantha Borgert, Stella Fisher, Ellie Nawa, Ashley Springer and Chloe Szot.

The Hamilton Southeastern boys lacrosse team beat Cathedral 17-11 in a Friday night game.
Senior EJ Reichert led the Royals with five goals, while Michael Matheny and Michael Mattaliano both scored three goals. Garrett Smith and Blaine Wertz each added two goals.
Wertz and Wang were both strong defensively by collecting six ground balls each. Nolan Knies and Jake Robeson also played solid defense.
Southeastern won the junior varsity game 9-6. Kai Trott scored three goals, with Owen O’Rourke and Gavin Berry both scoring two. Berry dished out two assists and O’Rourke had one, while Berry picked up four ground balls and had one forced turnover. O’Rourke collected three ground balls.
