Guerin Catholic got another big win Friday, sailing past Broad Ripple 56-14 in an away game. The victory keeps the Golden Eagles unbeaten for the season at 5-0.
Guerin left no doubt about this one from the start, scoring 30 points in the first quarter. Luke Keller threw three touchdown passes in that period alone: The first to Drew Thieme, the second to Owen Hargrave and the third to Thomas Kaser.
In between, Charles Bock ran the ball in from eight yards, and the Golden Eagles picked up a safety.
Bernie McGinnis grabbed a 10-yard TD pass from Keller early in the second period, then Kaser ran the ball in from 46 yards. Nick Demas made a short run late in the quarter, and Jagger Albert added the final touchdown, a six-yard jog, late in the fourth.
Kaser was successful on 6-of-7 extra points. He also led on the ground with 63 rushing yards. Keller completed five of six passes – meaning that 80 percent of his completed throws were touchdowns.
The Golden Eagles will begin Circle City Conference play next Friday, hosting Bishop Chatard.
