Indianapolis Symphony Orchestra returning to in-person concerts

With the blooming of flowers along Meridian Street and the revving of engines at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway, spring arrives to Hilbert Circle Theatre as the Indianapolis Symphony Orchestra returns to the stage for “Spring Inspirations.” The unique four-week series featuring both classical and pops performances begins Thursday, May 13.

Performances will be offered in-person at Hilbert Circle Theatre and virtually through a livestream. Tickets to live performances will be limited to ensure the safety and well-being of both ISO audiences as well as musicians and staff. Face masks will be required at all times except while eating or drinking while seated in the auditorium. (Note: Food and beverage will be allowed in the auditorium on a per-performance basis.) Out of consideration for the detrimental impact COVID-19 has had on the performing arts, Krzysztof Urbański has notified the Indianapolis Symphony Orchestra that he will not seek any compensation as music director in a show of support for the ISO, the musicians he has had the pleasure to lead, and the Indianapolis community he has been proud to be part of for the past 10 years.

“Spring Inspiration” series sponsors include the Christel DeHaan Family Foundation, Printing Partners, One America and the Indianapolis Colts. Livestreaming is generously supported in part by Tom and Dawn Bennett, and all concerts are generously supported by Dr. Kenneth and Mrs. Debra Renkens.
