The Carmel girls lacrosse team kept its unbeaten season going on Wednesday with a 21-4 win over Westfield at Murray Stadium.
The Greyhounds led 15-4 at halftime, with Carmel winning 20 of 25 draws. Eight different ‘Hounds players scored; Maddie McGarty led with six goals, followed by Hannah Kim (four), Tori Tomalia (three), Anna Dumke (two), Hollis Rang (two), Sophia Hanna (two), Julia Cherubini (one) and Pey Henney (one).
Cherubini handed out three assists, with one each from Dumke, Avery Jarosinski, Kim, McGarty and Tomalia.
Carmel hosts Noblesville on Tuesday.
Noblesville’s girls team dropped its first game of the season on Wednesday, falling to Cathedral 9-8.
Millers seniors Maddie Christie, Emma Potter and Mallory Miller all scored two goals for Noblesville, with Nataley Blackburn and Maya Hill both scoring one goal. On defense, Potter had five draw controls, with Christie and Blackburn both getting two and Miller getting one.
Potter led in ground balls with three, while Miller had two and Christie and Blackburn each had one. Christie made two forced turnovers, while Potter, Miller and Blackburn each forced one.
Noblesville’s Junior Varsity Black team fell 8-0. Lila Julian had three ground balls and three forced turnovers, Abigail Nickloy got three ground balls and Renee Garrett forced two turnovers.
Noblesville is 5-1 and plays at Penn on Saturday. The Junior Varsity Gold team plays tonight at Carmel.
The Hamilton Southeastern boys team overwhelmed Brownsburg 22-0 on Wednesday.
The Royals scored 10 goals in the first quarter, and four more in each of the next three periods. Eleven different Southeastern players scored goals, including four with three goals each: Seniors Tate Medcalf and EJ Reichert and juniors Garrett Smith and Michael Mattaliano. Sixteen of the Royals’ goals were assisted, with Smith and Owen O’Rourke getting three each.
Southeastern dominated the faceoffs, going 22-4. Ty DeSplinter picked up seven ground balls, with Miles Tudor getting five.
The Royals’ junior varsity won 19-2. Shane Gastineau, Kai Trott and Carter Jerman all scored three goals, while Ian Bones and Gavin Wright combined to win 19 of 21 faceoffs.
Southeastern plays two games in Columbus, Ohio on Saturday, taking on Olentangy Liberty and Dublin Jerome in a day-night doubleheader.
