Noblesville baseball splits games at own Invitational

The Noblesville baseball team split its two games at the Noblesville Invitational on Saturday.
The Millers fell to Zionsville 6-5 in their first game, then won a marathon contest with Fishers 14-13 in nine innings. Noblesville’s Bryce Adams hit a walkoff sacrifice fly to clinch the Millers’ first win of the season.
The Noblesville-Fishers game was a roller coaster. The Millers scored three runs in the bottom of the first inning; Kolbi Kazmierski hit an RBI single into center field for the first run, then Adams got home on a wild pitch and Kazmierski later scored on an error.
The Tigers loaded the bases in the top of the third inning. JP Preston drew a walk to get the first run home, then Fishers added two more runs when Jack Braun and Jack Brown were both hit by pitches. The game was now tied at 3-3, and two more bases-loaded walks from Caulin Brown and Zach Cox, put the Tigers in the lead.
Matt Bryant then smacked a single into center field for two more runs, and Cox later scored on a passed ball. With that, Fishers led 8-3. Noblesville got two of those runs back in the bottom of the third, with Mason Bohland getting home on an RBI groundout by Jacob Weiler. Adams then scored on the next at-bat.
Both teams added a run in the fourth inning. Fishers’ Caulin Brown singled home Preston, then the Millers’ Keegan Speek got home from Bryce Riggs’ RBI groundout; Speek came into run for Conner Bloss, who got on base with a triple. The score was now 9-6, Tigers.
Fishers added four more runs in the top of the sixth. Jack Braun doubled in Dom Oliverio, then was batted in by Caulin Brown. Grant Moritz came up next and blasted a two-run home run, scoring himself and Tate Warner, who came in to run for Caulin Brown.
But Noblesville stormed back in the bottom of the sixth, scoring seven runs to tie the game at 13-13. Riggs drew a bases-loaded walk for the first score. Drew Niswonger sent a two-RBI hit into right field. Kazmierski smacked a two-RBI double into center field, Adams scored on a wild pitch, then Weiler’s RBI single tied the game.
The score stayed tied at 13-13 until the bottom of the ninth. Dean White got on base with a single, then moved to third base on an error. Two walks loaded the bases, then Adams hit a fly to center field. It was caught, but White made it home.

The Eagles added a run in the top of the third, but Noblesville came back to tie it with two runs in the bottom of the fourth. Speek and Kazmierski both scored on separate wild pitches.
