Golden Eagles, Royals stay perfect

Guerin Catholic improved to 2-0 for the season with a 9-3 win at Zionsville on Monday.
Izzy Kemp led the way for the Golden Eagles, hitting two home runs and a double during a 3-for-4 night at the plate. Kemp drove in six total runs. Victoria Flores hit two doubles, with Ana Macha and Aliyah Dorsey also hitting twice.
Alicia Flores pitched five and a third innings for the win, striking out 14. Kemp had five strikeouts in relief. Neither player issued a walk during the game.

Hamilton Southeastern cruised to an 11-1, five-inning victory at Terre Haute South on Tuesday, styaing unbeaten at 3-0.
The Royals got on the board in the third inning with a two-RBI single by Olivia Howard. Southeastern poured it on in the later innings, with four runs in the fourth; including a two-RBI double from Reece Massey. Taylor Larson scored on the next at-bat after an RBI groundout from Ava Aguilar. Jenna Chase then batted in Massey.
In the fifth inning, the Royals added five runs. Daphne Bush singled in a run, then later scored on a wild pitch. Larson got home on another wild pitch, then Howard batted in Aguilar. Laila Wanza batted in Howard with a line drive to wrap up the HSE scoring.
Howard finished the game with three RBIs and was one of four Royals players with two hits. Massey, Bush and Ella Lewis also had two hits. Chase pitched all five innings, allowing only one hit.

Noblesville dropped a 13-2 Hoosier Crossroads Conference game at Avon in five innings on Tuesday.
The Millers scored one run in each of the first two innings. Reis Sjoholm got on base with a single and eventually scored on an error in the first inning, then Gabby Fowler smacked a center field home run to open the second inning. But it was all Orioles after that, as they scored seven runs in the bottom of the second, and finished the game with six runs in the fifth.
Claire Cullen had four strikeouts in relief.
