Carmel-based business Mr. Canary featured on ‘Good Morning America’

Earlier this morning, Carmel-based Mr. Canary was featured on Good Morning America’s Deals & Steals, putting the local woman-owned business in a national spotlight.

The program featured the company’s popular Finch Sock Feeder with a discount and fast shipping. Bosma Enterprises is assisting the company with fulfillment, ensuring customers receive the bird feeders quickly and properly.

As part of the promotion, Mr. Canary agreed to produce and ship a certain amount of products within a certain timeframe. Due to Mr. Canary’s experience with Bosma, owner Jan Long was familiar with Bosma Enterprises, including the organization’s supply chain capabilities and mission-driven approach, and knew Bosma could handle the increased demand. Mr. Canary began partnering with Bosma Enterprises in 2018 for warehousing and shipping needs.

“Mr. Canary was very fortunate to have this opportunity, and our company is always looking for opportunities to do good through business,” said Long. “Bosma Enterprises does great work, and we have full confidence in their supply chain capabilities. More importantly, they do a tremendous job helping people who are blind and visually impaired connect to their communities, providing meaningful employment to a population too often overlooked in both our economy and society.”

Bosma Enterprises provides job opportunities for people who are blind or visually impaired through a variety of business lines, such as warehousing, fulfillment, sales/marketing, GoodWorks® products and services, health care kitting, and contract packaging. The company is the business arm of Bosma, one of Indiana’s largest nonprofit organizations. For more than 100 years, Bosma has provided training and rehabilitation services to Hoosiers who are blind or visually impaired.

“We’re proud to call Mr. Canary our partner and appreciate the opportunity to help the company during this exciting time,” said Bosma Enterprises President and CEO Jeffrey Mittman. “Our team is more than up to the task, and we look forward to shipping the first orders soon.”
