The Carmel boys lacrosse team improved its record to 2-0 on Thursday with a 17-6 win at Guerin Catholic.
The Greyhounds jumped out to an 8-0 lead in the first quarter, with Matthew Rodgers scoring several of the early-period goals. Carmel extended its lead to 15-1 by halftime. The Golden Eagles fought back in the second half, but the ‘Hounds were able to hang on for the win.
Carmel’s three faceoff men, Daniel Seed, Jacob Katz and Zach Arbuckle, combined for 20 wins and seven losses on the night.
“I loved the sideline energy from the entire team from the start to finish of the game,” said Greyhounds coach Jack Meachum. “I think the black uniforms got the team going, and it was great to see us continue to play fast.”
Both teams are back in action tonight. Carmel hosts Hamilton Southeastern, while Guerin Catholic welcomes Noblesville.
