The Libertarian Party of Hamilton County (LPHC) on Monday announced that Lauri Shillings was elected party chair at their most recent county business meeting on Friday, March 5.
Shillings will be taking over the duties of the county chair after having served as the interim county secretary in 2020. She has been active in the Libertarian Party of Indiana for over two years. She served as the creative director for the Rainwater for Indiana gubernatorial campaign, and most recently is the committee co-chair for the state party’s annual convention that will be held March 26-28 in Fishers.
Additionally, Shillings’ experiences that will benefit LPHC moving forward include:
- 2009 graduate and 2013-14 board vice president of the Leadership Academy of Montgomery County.
- Senior Multi-media designer for the University of Indianapolis (2018-present).
- Owner of her own design firm, Pirate Smile Media, since 2000.
- 28 years of experience in design, advertising, marketing, and journalistic communications.
“I am thrilled to be entrusted with a leadership role in the Libertarian Party of Hamilton County,” Shillings said, “As the first woman elected to this position for the county party, I am committed to promoting inclusiveness and growth of the Libertarian Party, while working towards a more liberty-minded Hamilton County.”
Other officers elected during the recent county convention and business meeting were Vice Chair Adam Jennings, Treasurer Rob Place, and Party Secretary Michael Schultheiss.
