Noblesville student recognized for being named Indianapolis NBA Rising Star All-Star

State Rep. Chuck Goodrich (R-Noblesville) recently honored Noblesville native Chayse Hunter with a House resolution at the Statehouse for being named an Indianapolis NBA Rising Star All-Star.

Goodrich, a co-author of House Resolution 12, said “Rising Stars” are high school seniors who demonstrate leadership in their schools and communities and receive a $2,100 scholarship. Hunter was one of 21 Indiana students selected for the scholarship.

According to Goodrich, Hunter has been an active Boys & Girls Club of Noblesville member since middle school, where he has lead neighborhood clean-up and food drive projects. At his high school, he serves as secretary of the Torch Club and president of the Keystone Club, which are organizations focused on fine tuning students’ leadership skills. Members in these clubs who hold an office must be voted in by their peers and be in good academic standing.

“Chayse clearly has a passion to serve others and is a young leader in our community, and he embodies the spirit of this scholarship,” Rep. Goodrich said. “These characteristics stay with a person, and I have no doubt that he will continue to be a role model to others for years to come.”

Hunter says he plans to study welding and engineering after graduation. For more information about the Indianapolis NBA Rising Star All-Star program, visit nba.com/pacers.
