Carmel SWAT arrests shooting suspect

At approximately 11:27 p.m. on Wednesday, Carmel Police responded to the 100 block of Meadow Lane regarding a report of shots fired in the area.

Shortly after officers arrived, a person of interest was identified. Officers attempted to contact the suspect, later identified as Rodney Belcher, 43, but he refused to exit his residence. The Carmel SWAT Team responded and Belcher surrendered peacefully and was taken into custody.

Belcher has been charged with Criminal Recklessness – Level 6 Felony.

Fishers shooting leaves one injured

The Fishers Police Department said a shooting resulted in one person injured with non-life-threatening injuries Wednesday.

The shooting happened in the 13800 block of Boulder Canyon Drive.

According to police, both individuals involved in the incident have been accounted for, and there was no threat to the community.

An investigation into the shooting is ongoing and police have not announced any arrests.
